OSO Ecoline Solar Direct RI SD

- Providing free solar heated hot water

The Ecoline Solar Direct is a purpose-designed solar ready unvented cylinder, providing high solar input from the large heating coil and substantial dedicated solar volume. The Ecoline Solar Direct has back-up heating with twin electric immersion heaters. High performance fully flooded design, with expansion vessel supplied with the cylinder.

The Ecoline Solar Direct is able to provide up to 60% of annual domestic hot water requirements from free solar energy captured by roof panel collectors. Solar thermal installations using the Ecoline Solar Direct can be eligible for government backed Renewable Heat Incentive.

Ecoline Solar Direct is ideal for connection with all types of solar collectors, including the OSO SolEnergi collectors and differential controller to complete a high performance system.

The positioning and size of the coil in the Ecoline Solar Direct maximizes the use of available solar energy. A second electric immersion heater is fitted in the top half of the cylinder for boosting temperature when solar energy is low. The fully flooded design offers a superior hot water performance when solar gain is low, and the separate, external expansion vessel is supplied with wall bracket and flexible hose.

Ecoline Solar Direct is available in 2 different volumes, estimated to be suitable for the no. of people designated in the table below. The table shows suitable volumes based on experience from average hot water usage in a normal household. If the household has a large hotwater usage, for instance due to large bathtubs, steamshowers etc., one should choose higher volume than designated in the table. Hotwater capacity is calculated by instant tapping at 40°C. At 40°C a normal shower uses approx. 60 l., bathtubs 180 l. and bubblebaths 400 l. Capacity is also dependant upon solar collector size and performance.
